What Makes Your Heart Sing and the Time Fly?
I have discovered that there is a reason we work, interact with others and create various activities in our daily lives. It keeps us engaged and creative. This is a basic human need-to create.
Doing energy work via Trinity and Reiki, I am fascinated that it is our second chakra which is our center of creativity. Let me explain how each of the seven chakras enrich and supplement our energy. (Note that this is a very basic view of the chakra system. It goes into much greater depth!)

The first chakra is our root chakra and is located at the base of the spine. It is the first, primal energy vortex that is all about our stability, security and rootedness here on the earth. Its color vibration is red.
Our second chakra, as I mentioned before, is our center of creativity. It is orange. This is found at the level of the lower belly.
The third chakra is our solar plexus chakra. It is yellow. It is the center of our personal power and how we express it into the world. It is located at the soft area in between the bottom of the ribs.
The fourth chakra is the heart chakra. The heart chakra has both a front and back energy to it. The front of the heart chakra is pink. It is about allowing love into the heart. The back of the heart chakra is green. It is about discernment and choice. In other words: Who do we allow into our hearts to not get stabbed in the back?
The fifth chakra is the throat chakra. Its vibrational energy is our expression of speaking our truth into the world. Its color is blue.
The sixth chakra is the third eye. Located in between the eyes on the forehead, it is our intuition, the voice of our soul. Its color is magenta. Learning to listen to its wisdom is a lifelong relationship.
The seventh chakra is at the top and slightly above our head. It is our crown chakra. It is white (or some say indigo). It is our direct connection to the Divine.
As I began this, I was contemplating how significant it is for humans to create. Even more than love, or power or wisdom, we must create! And so, we do, every day in every way. Our creativity begins with our thoughts. Our thoughts create our actions. These actions shape our lives. The more consciousness we utilize to assess and actively choose our thoughts, the more deliberate our choices (actions) are.
This time of sheltering in place has afforded all of us ample time to consider how and what we want to create. Unproductive thinking (going down the rabbit hole of confusion, fear, worry, anxiety and dread) leads us nowhere fun. Sometimes those feelings can be so overwhelming, they can overtake us. Another funny thing about our thoughts…they create those feelings.
Those feelings trigger hormonal (neurotransmitter) responses in the body in the limbic brain. The more negative emotions trigger similar hormones which ultimately (over time) weaken the immune system.
One daily practice that I do is to ask myself (usually in the morning as I am just waking up, while lying in bed) is “What do I want to create today?”, and, “What do I want to release today?”
Here is where I look to the wisdom of the plants to help. Inhalation is the fastest way to positively affect the limbic brain! Luckily, that’s what essential oils do. Our sense of smell can ground and anchor us back into that sense of wonder and curiosity that sparks our creativity. I have found near immediate support from the Bliss Inhaler or Grief Inhaler. They can be used as often as desired, with no adverse effects.
I want to keep my Whole Body Strong; so, I developed a special blend to support the cardiovascular, respiratory and immune systems. I have been using it daily. It is filled with richly supportive oils of vetiver, helichrysum, German chamomile, hyssop, frankincense, inula and palo santo in a lovely prickly pear butter base. Feels luxurious on the skin too!
And to nourish and pamper my skin, I made a Body Butter Coffee Scrub. As one who is very sensitive to caffeine, this blend is made with de-caffeinated coffee (no need to worry about getting jittery from using it). The results are hydrated skin that is soft to the touch. Blended with vetiver and blood orange essential oils, it smells lovely while also providing an extra bit of immune support.
Each of these blends supports the total of you-body, mind and spirit.
For many of my friends and clients, allergies are especially bad this season. Besides nurturing your whole self (see above) Breathe Easy Sinus Support Cream and Inhalers are great for providing some relief as well as interrupting that nasty histamine cycle.
Here’s something else I have been working with during my At Home time….
A dear client gifted this book to me at New Year’s and I have been experimenting and enjoying the blends. It is called “Beauty Water” by Tori Holmes. It is filled with water-based tea recipes for hydration support.
This one is for Allergies:
Chamomile Chia Boost
4 cups water
1 Tablespoon dried German chamomile
1 pear, quartered
1 2” piece of ginger root, sliced
2 Ceylon cinnamon sticks (or I teaspoon powdered cinnamon)
1 vanilla bean, split and seeds scraped (or 1 teaspoon vanilla)
1 teaspoon chia seeds
Boil water in pan and remove from heat. Add chamomile and steep for 10 minutes. Strain out into jar and add all other ingredients. Cap jar tightly.
Shake for 1 minute. Let sit overnight. (I would put it in the refrigerator). When ready to serve, shake well. The chia seeds will rise to the top. Pour liquid into a glass leaving the solids in the jar. (I haven’t made this one, but I would probably strain it prior to drinking.)
Sip throughout the day when you are feeling run down or during allergy season. This blend has the anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties of chamomile. It also promotes calm and rest.
Will last 4 days in refrigerator.
Please let me know if you make this tea and what your results are.
Since the Whole Body Strong and Body Butter Coffee Scrub are so new, they are not yet on the website. If you are curious about trying them, please email me for details and I can send them out to you. And of course, the Bliss or Grief or Breathe Easy Inhalers and Cream.
